In order to capture the opportunities arising from the Guang Dong – Hong Kong – Macau Greater Bay Area development and bring communication convenience to residents in the region, CTM, subsidiary of CITIC Telecom International, cooperated with the main stream telecom operators in Mainland China and Hong Kong to launch the Greater Bay Area Service Plan, where customers could share the usage including Mobile Data, Voice and SMS in one telecom plan.

The launching ceremonies of “Greater Bay Area Service Plan” were held at Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau on 6 Dec 2017 respectively. CTM held the service launching ceremony at Macau Mandarin Oriental hotel, with the officiating guests including Zhu Hong, deputy officer of the Economic Department of China Liaison Office, Lau Wai-Meng, director of CTT,  Cheang Hiu Man, officer of DSE, Lai Chan Keong, member of CPPCC, Zhou Peng, vice president of Macau Chinese Enterprises Association and Vandy Poon, CEO of CTM.

Poon said that the “Greater Bay Area Service Plan” is another innovative cross-border sharing service following the launch of  “City Link Plan (Macau & HK)” and “City Link Plan Plus (China & HK & Macau)” service, demonstrating the determination and commitment of CTM to aid local corporates and citizens to participate in the construction and development in the Greater Bay Area through providing convenient and seamless telecom service. CTM will continue to develop collaboration opportunities with the telecom partners in the area and to bring more integrated telecom service to cater the needs of Greater Bay Area development and local corporates and citizens.

With immediate effect, Macau residents could enjoy 1GB 4G+ mobile data usage, 500 minutes free voice call and 50 text messages for use between Macau, Hong Kong and mainland China at a monthly charge of Mop 98, whereas the existing  “City Link Plan Plus (China & HK & Macau)” service customers could upgrade to the  “Greater Bay Area Plan” at an additional monthly fee to enjoy share usage of mobile data, free voice call and text message in Greater Bay Area.

Without limitation of boundaries, customers of “Greater Bay Area Service Plan” latched to CMCC’s network in mainland China and CMHK’s network in Hong Kong, the usage of mobile data, free voice call and text message will be deducted from the usage amount included in the monthly plan. When the usage exceeds the monthly free usage, the exceeded usage will be charged as Macau local usage fee.

Leveraging its strong expertise in international telecom services, CITIC Telecom International also provides services including signaling, Single IMSI Multiple Numbers (SIMN), IDD, international SMS etc., to support the “Greater Bay Area Service Plan”.
