CTM joined hands with China National Publication Import and Export Corporation to launch “Macau Express Reader”
CTM, a subsidiary of CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited, joined hands with China National Publication Import and Export (Group) Corporation (CNPIEC) to hold the “Product Launch and Cooperation Signing Ceremony” at the Macao International Book Fair 2019, and launched “Macau Express Reader” APP.
“Macau Express Reader” is an application that provides newspapers and magazines content services for local readers. It has a comprehensive collection of newspapers and magazines using advanced technologies such as fragmentation and SDK embedding to access real-time information, images and texts.
Ms. Lin Liying, Chairman of CNPIEC, pointed out that in the age of mobile reading, CNPIEC continues to focus on the technology research and product development of mobile reading. The “Macau Express Reader”APP leverages advanced technology to integrate the well-known media sources from Mainland China and Macau, such as Xinhua News Agency and Macao Daily, to encourage cultural exchange and enhance mutual understanding for people living in different regions.
The“Macau Express Reader” APP will provide subscription services to local readers through CTM, the largest integrated telecommunications carrier in Macau.
Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial of CTM, said that CTM and CNPIEC will join hands in using 5G technology to explore new reading modes such as VR books and holographic images, to raise the public’s reading interest.
The two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the ceremony and would jointly explore “5G New Reading” to bring a better reading experience to Macau residents.
The signing ceremony has been witnessed by Mr. Liu Wei, Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Mr. Vandy Poon, CEO of CTM, and Mr. Lu Bo, President of Macao Daily.
