On 17 October, CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited (“CITIC Telecom”) received 2024 STAR Award – Best Cybersecurity Solution from CAHK. The award signified our cybersecurity solutions in terms of creativity, influence and excellence. It also implied the recognition from the industry on CITIC Telecom’s technological ability in mobile communications cybersecurity.

CITIC Telecom’s “Intelligent Cross-border Mobile Network Security Management Platform” was launched on 1 May 2023. The platform is a cloud-based platform for digital monitoring and management applied on cybersecurity. To tackle the problem of phone scams in the society and fulfil the request on prevention of fraudulent communication raised by Office of the Hong Kong Communications Authority in November 2022, CITIC Telecom worked with other mobile carriers and virtual mobile carriers in Hong Kong and launched its self-developed “Intelligent Cross-border Mobile Network Security Management Platform”.  This platform assists citizens to identify and reduce risks by making use of big data and AI technologies.

Leveraging on the innovative technology such as AI and advanced protective system, the cybersecurity platform established new standard at cross-border communications cybersecurity. With support from the industry and citizens, the phone scam cases in Q4 2023 reduced more than 30%* on average compared to the same period in 2022. CITIC Telecom will further enhance digital application abilities to contribute to the smart city in terms of cybersecurity and information security.
