Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Phase III Data Centre at CITIC Telecom Tower

The construction of the Phase III data centre at CITIC Telecom Tower (CTT) officially started on April 20, 2018. Mr. Xin Yuejiang, Chairman of CITIC Telecom International, Mr. Wilson Wang, General Manager of Huawei’s Hong Kong Representative Office, and Mr. Stephen Ho, CEO of CITIC Telecom CPC officiated the groundbreaking ceremony.

Data Centre is an essential infrastructure for Cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and other new developments in the Internet sector. The Group is committed to developing data centre service as one of its strategic business segments. Following the acquisition of the whole building of CTT in 2016, the Group has started the study for the extension of high-grade data centre in CTT. Currently, the available racks at the CTT data centre is close to being sold out. The construction for the Phase III data centre is undertaken by Huawei, and it is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2018, with new racks being available to the market.

After the completion of the entire CTT data center reconstruction project, it will provide the market with more than 4,000 racks, and it will become one of the largest data centers in Hong Kong. Together with CITIC Telecom’s data centres and Cloud computing platforms in Ap Lei Chau in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China and rest of the world, we have formed a comprehensive coverage of data center to meet the rising demand in the market.
