Renowned social media agencies ‘Hootsuite’ and ‘We Are Social’ conducted a survey about global social networks – “DIGITAL IN 2018 GLOBAL OVERVIEW” recently. The survey analyzed the data collected on internet, social media and mobile network worldwide. The report shows that Macau’s internet connection speed is 88.9Mbps, ranking 7th among 120 countries and regions in the world. In terms of mobile connectivity and mobile broadband penetration, Macau ranks the top on both lists with penetration rates of 292% and 290% respectively.

Referring to the third-party reports published last year and this year, Macau ranks among the world’s advanced level in the network infrastructure and telecom market development, reflecting the efforts that CTM, a subsidiary of CITIC Telecom International, has made on network infrastructure, speed enhancement and the support in fair competition of telecom market.  The company envisaged that with the progress of “Fiber to All ” and “4G to All”, CTM will not only continue to provide the best network service to residents, but will also speed up the development pace of Digital Macau including “Internet +”,”IOT”, to construct Macau into the leading Smart City within the region.
