On top of the existing cooperation, both parties aim at further expanding and deepening collaboration so as to create synergies, to bring more comprehensive and quality service experience to customers and to make greater contributions in building the ‘Digital Macau’ smart city. The meeting was followed by a tour to various CTM facilities including the Network Management Centre and Telecentro Concept Store.

Mr. Lu appreciated the efforts made by CTM to enhance network service and accelerate business development. He described CTM as ‘small but sophisticated’, which meant that it has been progressing and is determined to pursue service excellence under the limitation of the market scale in Macau. He said that China Unicom, CITIC Telecom and CTM have a long collaboration history and have established a strong bond with each other. After the visit, it is envisaged that both parties could have more in-depth collaboration in different aspects. Mr. Lu further added that leveraging the opportunity arising from the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area, the Guangdong Branch Office of China Unicom and CTM will have more room for cooperation, bringing greater contribution to the Great Bay Area project.

Chairman Xin said that China Unicom, as one of the three biggest telecom operators in Mainland China, has business coverage throughout the world and has been playing a pivotal role within the industry. At the same time, as a significant participant in the construction of various new smart city models in the Mainland, China Unicom has accumulated massive valuable experience which is worth learning for CTM. China Unicom and CITIC Telecom have developed a long-term strategic partnership, established mutual trust and a good cooperation mechanism. After this meeting, collaboration between both parties could be strengthened, which could further uplift the service quality of CTM, ultimately bringing greater benefit to the development of ‘Digital Macau’ smart city.
