CITIC Limited Signs Strategic Collaboration Agreement with China Telecom
(Hong Kong, 14 June 2012) CITIC Limited and China Telecommunications Corporation (“China Telecom”) have signed a strategic collaboration agreement at a signing ceremony at the Capital Club on 6 June 2012. Guests of honour attending the ceremony included Mr Chang Zhenming, Chairman of CITIC Limited; Mr Tian Guoli, [Vice Chairman and President] of CITIC Limited; Mr Dou Jianzhong, Executive Director and [Vice President] of CITIC Limited; Mr Luo Ning, Assistant to the [President] of CITIC Limited; Mr Wang Xiaochu, Chairman of China Telecom; Mr Yang Jie, [President of China Telecom]; Madam Wu Andi, [Vice President of China Telecom]; and Mr [Guo Hao], [Assistant to the President of China Telecom]. Other noteworthy guests in attendance included the [responsible heads] of the Strategic and Planning Department as well as the Business Coordination Department of CITIC Limited, CITIC Holdings, CITIC Publishing, CITIC Bank, CITIC Securities, CITIC-Prudential Life Insurance and CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited. In addition, representatives of China Telecom work units were present including the Corporate Strategy Department, Marketing Department, Finance Department, Network Development Department, Customer Service Department, Government & Enterprise Customers Department, Global Business Department, Network Operation and Maintenance Department, along with China Telecom System Integration Company Limited. At the signing ceremony, Mr Chang Zhenming, Chairman of CITIC Limited, expressed his warmest welcome to Mr. Wang Xiaochu, Chairman of China Telecom, and his staff. He stated that both companies have achieved substantial success in their collaborative efforts in recent years and established a solid and friendly business relationship. CITIC Limited intends to work more closely with China Telecom to strengthen their cooperation in finance, informatisation and other potential fields, through which both partners can grow together and establish mutual support, and thus make greater contribution to the development of China. Mr Wang Xiao Chu, Chairman of China Telecom, in his speech conveyed China Telecom’s gratitude for the long-term support from CITIC Limited and appreciation of the professionalism demonstrated by CITIC Limited during the course of cooperation. He added that the related departments would diligently strive to implement the terms of the agreement, including setting up a professional team, providing top informatisation service to CITIC Limited and ultimately to serve as a model case for the close cooperation between state-owned enterprises. Mr Tian Guoli, [Vice Chairman and President] of CITIC Limited and Mr Yang Jie, President of China Telecom, signed the strategic cooperative agreement on behalf of both parties, whereby both parties are to strengthen their cooperation in finance and informatisation services. Both signatories are also to share resources in customers and distribution channels in order to explore opportunities in cloud computing as well as extending collaboration to areas including publishing, commercial travelling and other areas.
