CITIC Telecom and its Subsidiary CTM actively Engaged in GSMA Open Gateway Activities Established New Cooperation Intentions with Chinese Mainland Carriers
CITIC Telecom and its subsidiary CTM recently participated in the third meeting of the GSMA Open Gateway China Working Group held in Shenzhen. We actively engaged in discussions with telecom operators, aiming to reach consensus in cross-border and cross-carriers cooperation, and to accelerate innovation and development in telecom industry.
During the meeting, CITIC Telecom presented how the Quality on Demand API of Open Gateway can be used to offer 5G local acceleration packages for roaming users. The company representative also showcased innovative financial anti-fraud solutions using the Super SIM and various Open Gateway APIs to ensure secure financial transactions. Additionally, CITIC Telecom highlighted the use of the OTP API and Number Verification API to provide cross-border OTP user authentication services for Hong Kong and Macao residents traveling to Chinese mainland, as well as for visitors from Chinese mainland to Hong Kong and Macao. These new technologies and services aim to enhance the convenience of daily life and cross-border travel for residents in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Currently, the influence of the China Working Group of GSMA Open Gateway is growing, with API proposals from Chinese companies now contributing to over 17% of total API globally. CITIC Telecom its subsidiary CTM are actively engaged in the GSMA Open Gateway global activities. By leveraging the application development capabilities of Open Gateway, they aim to deliver new cross-border 5G applications and innovative business solutions for telecom clients, ultimately contribute to the development in the Greater Bay Area.
