CITIC Telecom International held the Innovation and R&D Conference 2019
In order to strengthen our effort on technological innovation and product R&D, and to lay a solid foundation for the leapfrog development of the company, CITIC Telecom International held the “Innovation and R&D Conference 2019” on January 29, 2019. More than 130 staff, including the Group’s management and staff from our subsidiaries — CTM, CITIC Telecom CPC, China Entercom (CEC), CITIC Telecom (SEA) and Acclivis participated in the conference.
The conference focused on the overall strategy of “A combined approach: in-house + external cooperation on R&D”, and specified the goals for technological innovation and product R&D:
Centralized leadership and follow the trend · Long-term planning and distributed implementation
Accumulate experience and talents · Achieve and share solid results
The conference was kicked off by the speech of Mr. Xin Yue Jiang, Chairman of CITIC Telecom International, with the topic “Accelerating the Group’s technological innovation and product R&D is the way for our sustainable development“. Mr. Xin said that the world’s technological level is advancing constantly, and the market needs are ever-changing. We must keep pace with the times, increase our efforts on technological innovation and product R&D, and accelerate the Group’s transformation towards an Internet-oriented telecom company.
Dr. Tiger Lin, CEO of CITIC Telecom, gave a speech about “Increasing technological innovation and R&D Investment to enhance the Group’s development momentum”. Lin analyzed our opportunities and roles in the digital and IoT era. He also pointed out six goals—transforming to smart city operator; focusing on government and corporate ICT services; driving the transformation of international business; developing big data service; enhance the Group’s Internet-based operation level with big data and AI.
Mr. Vandy Poon, CEO of CTM, and Mr. Stephen Ho, CEO of CPC, also delivered keynote speeches on “Leading Macau, Innovating the Future” and “Technology Empowerment, Connecting the World in the Digital Economy Era” respectively.
Staff from CPC, CTM and CITIC Telecom also shared their R&D cases respectively. After that, all participants actively put forward suggestions and had interactive discussions about the in-depth development of various technological innovations and product R&D topics.
Mr. Xin concluded the conference, saying that the next step was implementation. The Group will continue to encourage innovation and talent development, as well as implement incentive mechanisms to accelerate the Group’s transformation towards an Internet-based company.
