(March 7, 2025, Hong Kong) CITIC Telecom announced that the innovation project “RJet”, jointly developed by CITIC Telecom and its partners, was awarded with the third prize in “Open Gateway Global Use Case Innovation Challenge” at MWC25 Barcelona held in Spain on March 5, 2025. The award demonstrates its innovative technologies and capabilities to advance into new fields and explore new products by embracing the development trend in the information and communication industry.

Jointly organized by GSMA and China Unicom, the competition attracted 140 teams from 23 countries, ranging from international operators, technology giants, industry alliances, to renowned universities. The judging committee was made up of experts from the industry, including the GSMA, China Unicom, and TM Forum. Their comprehensive evaluation was based on criteria such as “technological innovation degree”, “scenario adaptability”, and “pain point solving ability”.

With an eye on smart tourism, the innovation project “RJet” integrates advanced digital intelligence technology with GSMA Open Gateway standards, showcasing the innovative application of cutting-edge technologies in smart tourism scenarios. Furthermore, it has deeply incorporated into the construction of Hong Kong and Macau into international smart tourism destinations by accurately fulfilling the needs for highly efficient and intelligent network services in multiple scenarios such as live streaming for influencers, video game competitions, large-scale events (sports meetings, exhibitions, concerts, etc.), and high-definition video conferences. It also provided strong support for the upgrade of the smart tourism ecosystem.

The finalists came from various industries such as smart tourism, smart campuses, low-altitude economy, intelligent driving, and outdoor sports. Open Gateway technology successfully addressed challenges like optimizing large models, drone regulation, and enhancing cloud terminal intelligence, demonstrating the deep integration of cutting-edge technologies with industry needs.
